AI Breaker

The off switch for AI on Windows.

Turn AI off on your PC in five levels. See exactly what each level stops before you apply it, check afterwards that it stayed off, and put everything back with one click.

For Windows 11 Home and Pro. $19 once, a year of updates included.

Try it. Move the switch.

  • ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude and other AI chat services
  • Copilot in Office and Edge

  • Windows Hello face and fingerprint PIN still works
  • Live captions and voice typing
  • Defender malware protection

Nothing blocked. Windows keeps working at every level.

Feeling safe with AI starts with knowing you can turn it off.

Six in ten Americans want more control over how AI is used in their lives. Only 17% are happy with the control they have.1 On Windows today, that control is spread across dozens of settings, policies and apps.

One place
Every AI switch on your PC, in plain language. No hunting through Settings, Group Policy or the registry.
Proof
A log of what was blocked and when, taken from Windows' own event logs, so you can check it yourself.
It stays off
A Windows update or a new app version can't quietly switch AI back on.
Straight about limits
Where AI Breaker can't reach something, it says so, instead of showing a green tick it hasn't earned.

Five levels. Each one adds to the level before it.

Start small and go further when you're ready. Every level comes with a list of what stops working, and any level is one click away from being undone.

  1. 0

    Unrestricted

Nothing blocked. Where you start, and where one click takes you back to.

    What stops working

    Nothing.

  2. 1

    Cut cloud AI

Blocks AI chat services such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Mistral and Perplexity, in every browser and in their desktop apps.

    What stops working

Those websites and apps. Your browser shows its own “blocked” page and notes that it's managed on this PC.

  3. 2

    Disable Windows AI

Everything in Level 1, plus Recall, Click to Do, Copilot in Office and Edge, and the AI features in Windows' own apps, switched off with the settings Microsoft documents for IT admins.

    What stops working

Those features only. Some need you to sign out or restart an app, and AI Breaker tells you which before you apply.

  4. 3

    Block third-party AI

Everything in Level 2, plus the Copilot app, local model runners like Ollama and LM Studio, and the AI engines other apps carry inside them.

    What stops working

Background blur in some call apps, generative tools in some editors, local AI chat apps, AI upscaling in some games.

  5. 4

    Full lockdown

Everything in Level 3, plus the machine learning built into Windows itself.

    What stops working

Windows Hello face and fingerprint (your PIN still works), text recognition, handwriting, voice typing, live captions and natural Narrator voices.

If you rely on captions, voice typing or Narrator, Level 4 takes them away. AI Breaker asks you to confirm before it does.

Never blocked, at any level: Defender's malware protection. It uses machine learning to keep you safe, and AI Breaker has no switch for it.

See the impact before you press Apply.

AI Breaker scans your PC for AI engines and model files and tells you, app by app, what a level will block and what will only lose a feature. It also tells you which changes take effect right away and which need a restart.

Want to keep one app working? Allow it, and everything else stays blocked.

Keeps working

Windows, Office, your browsers, your games and the other 140 apps on this PC.

Close 2 apps to finish. No PC restart needed.

Don't take our word for it.

Every block is recorded by Windows itself. The activity log shows the event ID next to each entry, so you can open Event Viewer and find the same record.

It also lists every change AI Breaker made to your PC, and when. Export it any time.

Every change is written down before it's made. So every change can be undone.

One-click undo
Go back to any lower level, or all the way to Level 0, and your PC returns to exactly how it was.
Panic button
Removes everything AI Breaker has ever set, in one step, with no questions about levels.
Works when the app doesn't
If the app won't start, a recovery command still undoes every change. It doesn't depend on anything else running.
Can't be quietly undone
Tamper lock uses signed policies, so other software or another user on the PC can't remove the blocks behind your back.
No surprise restarts
Before you apply, each change says whether it works now, needs an app restarted, or needs a PC restart.
Undoes its own mistakes
If applying a level fails halfway, the steps that did finish are reversed automatically.

Built only on controls Windows documents and supports.

  • Uses the same policies, firewall rules and App Control that IT departments use. No patched system files, no hosts-file tricks, no kernel driver.
  • Never blocks Microsoft's own servers. Copilot is turned off through Microsoft's documented settings, the way Microsoft recommends.
  • Never touches Defender, at any level.
  • If your organization already manages a setting, AI Breaker leaves it alone and shows you that it did.
  • Windows keeps working at every level. Only AI features stop.

$19

Once. Yours forever. A year of updates included.

Updates keep the block list current as new AI apps and services appear, and add new Windows AI settings as Microsoft ships them. After a year, every level, the activity log and undo keep working; only the list of third-party AI stops growing. The app tells you the date, before and after.

For schools and organizations

Most organizations don't want zero AI. They want only the AI they've approved. A version for organizations is planned on the same foundation: allow the assistant you've licensed, block the rest, with central policy and audit reports.

Questions

Which editions of Windows does it work on?

Windows 11 Home and Pro. Enterprise and Education include everything Pro has, so it works there too.

Can a Windows update turn AI back on?

AI Breaker checks its settings regularly and shows you if anything changed. Tamper lock goes further: the app blocks become signed policies that can't be removed without you.

Why pay when there are free tweaks?

Free tweaks change a few settings once. AI Breaker covers every documented AI setting in Windows and its built-in apps, keeps the list of third-party AI apps and services up to date, shows you the impact before you apply, proves what was blocked, and undoes all of it cleanly.

Why does my browser say it's managed by my organization?

Level 1 uses each browser's official block list, which is a policy setting. Browsers show that note whenever a policy is set. It goes away when you return to Level 0.

Will I need to restart?

Usually not. Levels 1 to 3 mostly take effect right away or after you restart the affected apps. Level 4 recommends a restart, because Windows keeps some components loaded until then. You see this per change before you apply.

Does AI Breaker send my data anywhere?

Your activity log and settings stay on your PC. The app goes online to check your license and to download block-list updates, which it checks for our signature before using.

Be first to switch it off.

AI Breaker is in testing now. Leave your email and we'll write once, when it's ready.
